About Dr. Richardson

Dr. Monica Lucero Richardson is an accomplished academic, board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon with extensive experience in women's health care, medical education, and clinical research.

Dr. Richardson graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Ethnic Studies. In college, she was selected as a National Hispanic Scholar and Presidential Intern at Brown University. She pursued her medical training at Brown Medical School where she was selected for the Jack and Edna Saphier prize. She also pursued her Masters in Public Health at Brown University School of Public Health. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Massachusetts. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Richardson completed her fellowship training at Stanford Medical School in Palo Alto, Ca.  

Dr. Richardson was most recently at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/ Harvard Medical School where she was the assistant fellowship director in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgery. She has published multiple studies on the accessibility of healthcare, surgical outcomes in pelvic floor reconstruction and the impact of pelvic floor disorders on the quality of life in women. Monica offers expertise in pelvic floor disorders, urinary and anal incontinence, menopause, pelvic or bladder pain, and sexual dysfunction.
